Mankind is divided in so many ways and on so many levels. This includes: race, wealth, tradition, political and social values, beliefs, and of course RELIGION.
Yet most all religions agree on this central principle. There is one God who created one human race. Over time, humanity has allowed itself to be separated by differing religious factions: Islam, Buddhist, Baha'i Faith, Hindu, Hebrew, Sikhim, Jewish, Rastafarian, Restorationist, and Christian.
Within the Christian faith there has been even further division: Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Lutheran, Church of God in Christ, Assemblies of God, Nazarene, nondenominational and MORE.
Why does this happen?
The major cause of our division is that we are all products of different environments, born into different times, where different beliefs, traditions, rules, and cultures were established. Each cultural group has unique strengths and perspectives from which larger cultural community can benefit. These cultural divides rob us of the natural inherent contributions we can make to one another. Embracing one set of beliefs leads us to be prejudiced or biased, believing that one environment, set of teachings, influences, and beliefs must be better than all others. We have not been taught to appreciate and respect our cultural differences, while celebrating our most obvious similarities; we are one people created by one God.
Our differences create racial and ethnic divisions, which result in misunderstandings, loss of opportunities, and sometimes violence.
Racial and ethnic conflicts drain humanity of financial and human resources. They distract cultural groups from being reconciled on the key issues they have in common.
